Abstract: In this paper, the application of fly ash, the industrial waste, on the far-infrared functional ceramics was discussed. The experiments including the single factor experiment and the surface treatment experiment showed that: fly ash can be used as a ceramic material for the infrared ceramic formula; it can greatly reduce the sintering temperature of green body, but the far-infrared radiation properties of the body will decline when the amount of this material increases; the sintering degree and surface conditions (polished or not) of the material both affect the value of its infrared emissivity.
