Research Progress on Oxide Eutectic In-Situ Ceramic Composites

Abstract: Because of their excellent chemical stability and mechanical properties at an ultra-high temperature (1600℃), oxide eutectic in-situ ceramic composites turn to be a potential new generation of ultra-high temperature structural materials. The methods for the materials preparation are reviewed, and their structure characteristics are presented. Moreover, their chemical stability and mechanical properties are depicted, and then the factors influencing them are analyzed and summarized. Finally, problems to be solved on eutectic ceramic composites are proposed.
