Research Progress of Layered Conductive Ceramic Ti3sic2

Abstract: The layered ternary compound Ti3SiC2 has a hexagonal crystallographic structure. It combines both the merits of the metals and ceramics and possesses lots of attractive properties such as excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, good machinability, high oxidation and chemical corrosion resistance, good thermal shock resistance and good self -lubrication abilities. High -performance Ti3SiC2 can be widely used in the fields of instrument, metallurgy, chemical engineering,automobile, ship craft and aerospace. In the present paper, the structure, performance, fabrication method and application of Ti3SiC2are introduced.
