Research on the Modification of Α-Alumina Microfiltration Membrane

Abstract: α-Al2O3 microfiltration membranes were modified by nano zinc oxide and titanium oxide by a coprecipitation process.The results show the flux of the modified membranes is increased and the increasing amplitude of the flux reaches 19.4~49.6% on the condition of dead-end filtration. Furthermore, the application of nano zinc oxide modifiedα-Al2O3microfiltration membrane was discussed initially. The flux of the modified membrane ups to 0.708 m3·m-2·h-1·bar-1 on the condition of cross flow filtration, compared with the flux of the unmodified membrane, which increased by 180.95%.
