Abstract: In this paper, ZrB2 ceramic membrane was successfully fabricated using liquid precursor method followed by calcinationat 1600℃. A precursor solution was prepared using ZrOCl2·8H2O, boric acid, citric, and sucrose as starting materials, and PVA as coating additive. The precursor membrane and the ceramic membrane were characterized by SEM, EDS and pore size analyzer. Results showed that the membranes were smooth and dense with some little holes smaller than 5 nm. XRD and Element analysis results showed the ceramic membrane obtained was ZrB2 with the presence of some C due to incomplete reaction. The preparation of ZrB2 ceramic membrane was effected.
