Abstract:  Through the effective alignments of the glaze formulas for pierced hole sealing and surface coating, once-fired glaze for rice grain porcelain fired at 1330°C was prepared, using K-feldspar, albite, dolomite, kaolin, quartz, zinc oxide and barium carbonate as raw materials. The glaze was smooth and delicate with high transparency and glossiness. The impacts of the main raw materials on the properties of the glaze were studied. The results show: the adjustment of the content of albite and quartz content in the formula could well control the high temperature viscosity of the glaze.

Key words:  glaze for rice grain porcelain; glaze for pierced holes; surface glaze; once-firing
