Abstract: N-carboxymethyl chitosan was prepared by using chloroacetic acid, chitosan, and sodium hydroxide as the main raw material, and then carboxymethyl chitosan / Bentonite composite materials loaded on the bentonite was prepared. Infra-red spectrum(IR) and Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM)techniques were ued to characterize the carboxymethyl chitosan/Bentonite composite material. The adsorption test of carboxymethyl chitosan/Bentonite composite materials for Methylene blue solution was investigated. The researches of the exeperimenial results show htat: When the temperature 30 ℃, pH equals 8, and the initial concentration of methylene blue solution of 6 mg/L, the adsorption of rate is 86.80%.
