Aesthetic and Redesigning Exploration on Song Dynasty Ru Ware

Abstract: Ru ware is the general term for celadon ware from Ru Kiln in Northern Song Dynasty. It’s one of the most celebrated of Chinese historical ceramics, marking the unparalleled achievement of the craft. This paper takes an insight into the aesthetics of traditional Ru ware in Song Dynasty. It observes the glazes and shapes of celadon Ru ware originally produced for the Song Dynasty imperial court for the redesign of reproduction products in order to provide some inspiration for the development of ontemporary Ru ware.
