Abstract: Based on the study of the existing literature, Dehua ceramic industrial cluster is evaluated by using Tim Padmore and Hervey Gibson’s classic GEM model. The research results show that the competitiveness of Dehua ceramic industrial cluster is above the national average, but still significantly below the world’s leading level. Its external market, industrial structure, strategy and facilities have obvious competitive advantage while its resources, local market, supplier and related industries are the restricting aspects that call for improvement. For further promoting the competitiveness of Dehua ceramic industrial cluster, paths from the perspective of industrial structure adjustment, industry development model change and talent introduction mechanism are presented.
