Numerical Simulation on Temperature Characteristics of SiC Crucible
in Microwave Heating

Abstracts:On the basis of the derived theoretical heating rate equation, a mathematical model was established for the SiC crucible being heated in a microwave field. Temperature characteristics of the SiC crucible in microwave heating with the multi physical field coupling was numerically simulated using finite element software COMSOL. The results revealed that because of being thoroughly heated in a microwave field, the SiC crucible could rise to a high temperature with a high heating rate and uniform temperature distribution. The results provided the basis for the heating process design of non-absorbing materials heated by a SiC crucible in the microwave field.
