Abstract: Traditional folk art blue and white ceramic paintings have seen a number of transformations in style and aesthetics in their development. This paper probes into the style evolution of the 17th century folk art blue and white ceramic paintings, focusing on their motifs of reclusion in order to find the root of their transformation in literati paintings.
