Abstract: Most people reject traditional ceramic furniture because they believe ceramics are obsolete and rigid out of step with their modern living space where only the contemporary western-style furniture can fit in. In fact, a creative use of ceramic materials in the design of modern furniture not only helps establish a system of ceramic furniture with distinctive Chinese characteristics, but also promotes the preservation and transmission of Chinese ceramic heritage.
