Abstract:Transparent Al₂O₃ green bodies prepared by tape casting method were sintered in high temperature electric furnace in H₂ to prepare transparent Al₂O₃ceramic with excellent property. The influence of process parameters such as glue elimination heating rates, solid content and sintering aids on the sintering property of transparent Al₂O₃ ceramic was researched. High temperature comprehensive thermal analyzer, scanning electron microscope and uv-vis spectrophotometer were used to test DSC-TG curves, SEM images and total transmittance,respectively. The results show that transparent Al₂O₃ ceramic with total transmittance of 73.5% was prepared with glue elimination heating rates of 1 °C/min, solid content of 55vol% and sintering aids ratio of Mg(NO₃)₂ : Y (NO₃)₃ : La(NO₃)₃=5:3:3.
