Effects of Graphite Addition on the Mechanical Property and Tribological Property of SiC Composites

Abstract:Graphite reinforced SiC composites were prepared via introducing natural graphite flakes into SiC matrix by liquid phase sintering.Their mechanical and tribological properties, including density, flexural strength and densification behavior were investigated. The flexural strength and relative density of the composites decreased with the increase of graphite, and the excellent tribological performance of the graphite improved the tribological properties of SiC composites.
