Abstract: Glass/oxide composites, consisting of Ca-Ba-Mg-Al-B-Si-O glass and various oxides (Al2O3, TiO2, ZrO2 and SiO2), were prepared by using a low-temperature sintering method. The property-composition relationship of the Ca-Ba-Mg-Al-B-Si-O glass/oxide was studied, in terms of sintering behavior and dielectric properties. It was demonstrated that different oxides had different effects on sintering, thermal and dielectric properties of Ca-Ba-Mg-Al-B-Si-O glass/oxide composites. The presence of Al2O3 promoted densification of glass/oxide composites, while the addition of SiO2 reduced dielectric constant of the ceramics. Specifically, the Ca-Ba-Mg-Al-B-Si-O glass/Al2O3 sample sintered at 875 ℃ exhibited a bulk density of 3.10 g•cm-3, a dielectric constant of 8.03 at 10 MHz, a dielectric loss of 0.0005, making it potential candidate for low-temperature co-fired ceramics.
