Abstract: In order to eliminate the influence of sintering shrinkage of ceramic materials on the accuracy of the final bone scaffolds and improve the forming accuracy of the bone scaffolds fabricated by using direct ink writing, the effects of the composition of bioceramic paste and key processing parameters during the direct ink writing process on the sintering shrinkage rate of BCP scaffolds were studied. The factors influencing the sintering shrinkage rate were summarized, while strategies to compensate the shrinkage of the BCP scaffolds were proposed. In the experimental range, it was revealed that the main factors affecting the sintering shrinkage rates of the BCP scaffolds are their designed size and shape, where the sintering shrinkage rate of the scaffolds was decreased with increasing designed size. The effectiveness of the compensation method was also verified by the experimental results.
