Abstract: Iridescent glaze is a kind of crystal glaze with a variety of colors. Mn and Fe were used as nucleation agents, and NH4VO3 was used as crystallization promoter. Different temperature, holding time, glaze thickness, MnO2 content and NH4VO3 content were studied as reaction factors. Iridescent glaze was characterized by SEM, XRD and XRF. The experiment results showed that, the excellent iridescent appearance could be obtained with spinel MnFe2O4 generated in the glaze and the size of the crystal particles at 1 mm when the holding time was 1040 ℃ the holding time was 105 min, the glaze layer thickness was 0.5 mm, the MnO2 content was 2% and the NH4VO3 content was 1%.
Keywords: iridescent glaze; crystalline glaze; spinel
