Abstract: A composite made of 3D graphene-wrapped copper cobaltite hollow spheres (3DGW/CuCo2O4) was synthesized through ahydrothermal method, etching, and subsequent calcination with Cu2O/graphene oxide (Cu2O/GO) as a template. The phase, morphology, valence and electrochemical properties of the composite were investigated. The results show that CuCo2O4 hollow spheres with a diameterof about 500 nm are wrapped by the 3D graphene as a carrier. The unique 3D graphene structure enables the composite to have charge-transfer resistance and superior electrochemical properties. When the 3DGW/CuCo2O4 composite was used for non-enzymatic glucose sensordetection, it reached the sensitivity of 2265 μA·mM−1·cm−2 within the glucose concentration range of 0-0.7 μM, and 1337.7 μA·mM−1·cm−2 in the glucose concentration range of 0.7-2.3 μM.
