Abstract: From the perspective of systemic-functional semiotics, this paper uses Michael O’Toole’s research methods on sculpturesto interpret environmental ceramic art works by evaluating multiple objective factors and making systemic choices. The feasibility andoperability of applying the visual grammatical rules to the appreciation of this art are also analyzed.
