Abstract: MgO-A12O3-SiO2 glass was prepared by conventional melt cooling method, and cordierite-based glass-ceramics were obtained by heat treatment. The influence of ZrO2/TiO2 composite nucleating agent and heat treatment on crystallization behavior and thermal expansion coefficient of glass-ceramics was explored. The results show that theMgO-A12O3-SiO2system has a strong tendency to surface crystallization, and the addition of the nucleating agent can reduce the crystallization temperature, and it is beneficial to induce the homogeneous crystallization of the glass-ceramics and promote the phase transition of cordierite into indialite, which is beneficial to reduce the expansion coefficient of cordierite glass-ceramic material. With the complex crystal nucleus, the cordierite glass-ceramic material with the lowest thermal expansion coefficient of 1.03×10-6/℃ can be obtained when the temperature is 1050 ℃ and the holding time is 60 min.
