Abstract: Vanadium oxide nanobelts are firstly prepared in a mixed salts electrolyte by a simple electrochemical anodization method. The constitution, structures and properties of the as-prepared samples are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis/differential scanning calorimetry (TG/DSC) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The nanobelts have the length of 0.5-3 μm and the width of 20-50 nm. They can absorb 99.0% Cu2+ from aqueous solution.

Key words: vanadium oxide nanobelts; anodization; Cu2+ adsorption
