Abstract: Fuel flexibility is one of the most important advantages of solid oxide fuel cells, so liquid hydrocarbon fuels can be used as fuels for practical use of SOFCs. There are some impurities in the liquid hydrocarbon fuels, like the sulfides. In this research, LST nanofibers protective layer has been designed to protect the Ni-based anode. In addition, Mg/Fe protective layer has been infiltrated into LST-nanofibers protective layer to form the Mg/Fe-LST composite protective layer to protect the Ni-based anode. It is believed that the combination of the LST-nanofibers and the Mg/Fe protective layer can protect the nickel-based anode from sulfur.

Key words: SOFCs; Ni-based anode; LST-Mg/Fe; Sulfur tolerance
