Abstract: SnO2 powder packaged by nanometer ZnO (SnO2-ZnO) was prepared by precipitation method with Zn(NO3)2 • 6H2O and SnO2 as raw materials. The micron SnO2 powder coated with nanometer ZnO was characterized by TEM. Then SnO2-ZnO/ZST ceramics were obtained with SnO2–ZnO powder, SnO2, TiO2 and ZrO2 as raw materials by solid state reaction method. The research of the ZST ceramic showed: SnO2-ZnO powder could lower the sintering temperature and improve the dielectric performance of the ZST ceramic. When the ZnO doping in SnO2-ZnO made up 0.8wt.% of the (Zr0.8Sn0.2)TiO4 ceramic and the sintering temperature was 1260°C, the microwave dielectric ceramic with the Q value of 4200.8 (10 GHz), the εr of 38.2, and the volume density of 5.25 g/cm3 was obtained.

Key words: precipitation method; SnO2 packed by ZnO; (Zr0.8Sn0.2)TiO4 microwave dielectric ceramics; Q value
