Abstract: Owning to high mechanical strength, high hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, it is very important to broaden the range of the applications of alumina ceramics. Direct sintering of complex and large-size alumina ceramic component is a challenge and enegy consuming. It is an effective method to join small and simple pieces into large and complex ceramics components. Therefore, joining of alumina ceramics under low temperature has a high potential in industry. In this paper, B2O3-ZrO2 and B2O3-Al2O3 materials were used as joining layer of alumina ceramics achieving at low temperature. The components and microstructure of joining layers were chareacterized.

Key words: ceramics joining, Al2O3, microstructure
