Abstract: Zn0.97Cu0.03Zr(Nb1-xTax)2O8(ZCZNT, x=0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, 0.09)microwave dielectric ceramics were prepared by conventional mixed solid method using ZnO, ZrO2, CuO, Nb2O5 and Ta2O5 as raw materials. The effect of Ta2O5 additives on sinterability, phase composition, microstructure, and microwave dielectric properties was investigated. The result show that Ta2O5additives can improve the quality factor Q×f and the dielectric constant εr of ZCZNT ceramics, optimization of resonant frequency temperature coefficient τf. The optimal microwave dielectric properties were achieved when x = 0.07 with εr = 31.8, Q×f = 64708 GHz and τf = -49.42×10-6 /℃ which was sintering at 1240 ℃ for 4 h.

Key words: Ta2O5, ZnZrNb2O8, High quality factor, microwave dielectric ceramics
