Abstract: In this study lithium porcelain stone was employed to partially substitute for white potash to prepare low temperature sanitary ceramics via slip-casting fired at 1150 ℃ The crystalline phases and microstructures of the as-prepared samples were characterized by XRD and SEM,respectively. The effects of the introduced lithium porcelain stone on the performances of low temperature sanitary ceramics were investigated detailedly. Results show that the partial replacement of white potash with lithium porcelain stone could effectively reduce the firing temperature of sanitary ceramic. When the contents of lithium porcelain stone and white potash were respectively 20% and 30%, the water absorption, volume density and flexural strength of low temperature sanitary ceramics were 0.03%, 75.83 Mpa and 2.3839 g/cm3, respectively.
