Abstract: In this paper, the anatase TiO2 was successfully synthesized using titaniumtetrachloride as raw material by hydrolyzing titania sol.The TiO2 catalyst was characterized by XRD, SEM, DRS and LRS. The photocatalytic activity of TiO2 was studied by reduction of U(VI).The results showed that the band gap absorption edge of TiO2 was 398 nm, which corresponded to the band gap energy of 3.14 eV. The reduction rate (120 min) of the U(VI) by anatase TiO2 reached 99% under UV irradiation. It provides an experimental basis to deal with low concentration uranium by photocatalytic reduction technology.

Key words: anatase TiO2; low-temperature; photocatalytic reduction; U(VI)
