Abstract: Taking ceramic tableware and ceramic cutting tools as examples, this paper uses the form-qi-spirit craft theory to the comparison between crafts and tools to understand the reasons why they are often confused by people. From the subtle differences in functional forms, the distinction between the two kinds of works is clarified. It provides the support for the theoretical study of handicraft and broad craft, including the establishment of ideological trends for generic craft in the context of the contemporary time.
