Abstract: High-purity Ti3AlC2 was prepared by in situ reaction process of Ti-1.2Al-2TiC system. The ideal preparation temperature is 1350 ℃. The Ti3AlC2 purity of the product corresponding to 2TiC-Ti-1.2Al system is 90.62 wt.%. A layered structure can be obtained. The density, Vickers hardness, flexural strength and fracture toughness of the product are 4.24 g/cm3, 3.54 GPa, 517.45 MPa and 6.86 MPa·m1/2, respectively.
