Abstract: Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have excellent properties, such as high strength, high hardness, high flexibility, excellent electrical, optical and thermal properties. Therefore, development of CNTs composites compounded with ceramics, metals and polymers has become a hot research topic. As an emerging material forming process, ice templating method has characteristics of simple process, environmental greenness, controllable microstructure and excellent performance, which can be used to fabricate CNTs composites with excellent properties. The research progress on the preparation of bionic  structured CNTs composites by using ice templating method is reviewed in this paper. Structural characteristics, performance and applications of the materials, in energy storage, biomedical, adsorption, advanced structural materials, will be summarized.
