Abstract: In recent years, the construction of metamaterials based on the rich electromagnetic properties and multiple polarization mechanisms in functional ceramic materials has attracted extensive attention. Such metamaterials, as so called ceramic-based dielectric metamaterials, have various advantages, such as low loss, simple structure, good multi-field adjustable properties and environmental adaptability. To a certain extent, without large ohmic loss and complex structural design of the traditional metal-based metamaterials in high-frequency scene, ceramic-based dielectric metamaterials will bring new design ideas to the development of passive devices. In view of different functional ceramics, the latest progress in ceramic-based dielectric metamaterials is summarized, from the design principle and construction mechanism. Meanwhile, the development trend of ceramic-based dielectric metamaterials is elaborated and put forward, while their application prospect is reasonably prospected.、

Key words:dielectric ceramics; metamaterials; passive devices; multifunctional applications; new physics
