Abstract: China is the mother country of ceramics. Under the influence of agricultural civilization and settled life style, ceramics as a convenient article for daily life are produced, with kiln sites all over the country. However, researches have been mainly focused on the major industries; relatively less attention has been paid to remote areas of the country. Inner Mongolia, as the northern territory of China, has a vast territory and abundant resources of ceramic raw materials. Meanwhile, it also has a long history of ceramic production. On the basis of literature reading and field investigation, this paper combs and summarizes the development process of daily-use ceramic industry in Qingshuihe County, Inner Mongolia, and analyzes the difficulties in its development, so as to pave the way for its future development. At the same time, this study will serve as a record of the history of ceramic production in remote areas of China, so as to supplement the history of Chinese ceramics.
