Abstract:In this study, silica and titania doped 'Y -alumina membranes were prepared by the Sol-gel method. In term of Al:Si:Ti atom ratio 1 :4:1, Al20 3-Si0 2-Ti0 2 sol could be stored stably when the pH value was 1.2-2.5. XRD analysis showed that the composited membranes were consisted of non-crystalline Si02,'Y -Al203,Al4Ti2Si012 and Ti02.SEM analysis revealed that the surface of composited membranes should be described as "sheet-packed", on the substrate. The effect of addition and pH value and the stress between membrane and substrate and dipping time and heat treatment on properties of A'20 3 composite membranes are important.
