Abstract: Thermodynamic models are very impotant in the study of material science not only in theory but also in practice. Several general thermodynamic models were sy stematically reviewed, i.e. ideal solution approximation, regular solution approximation, two subltice model and cluster vaniation method and so on. The importance of phase diagram calculating in the study of materials science was stated.
