Abstract:  Cartoon is a visual art form. Its biggest characteristic is the stylized creation of unrealistic images. Decorative patterns for daily-use ceramics are becoming increasingly diverse, and the introduction of cartoonish style into their design can help present a strong visual shock. Cartoons can work as a bond connecting people of the same interest. The incorporation of cartoons into decorative design is an inevitable result of a shift in daily-use ceramics from function-oriented to man-oriented. The combination of ceramic forms with the decorations of cartoonish humor is funny, artistic, and contemporary, showing a great potential for development.

Key words:  ceramics for daily use; pattern design; cartoon; fun
