[Significance] Since its establishment, Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute (JCI) has achieved remarkable success in ceramic art education. In the 1980s, a large number of artists were produced, who have had a significant impact on both domestic and international art circles, serving as key leaders and academic pioneers in many leading art institutions across the country, forming a unique "Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute phenomenon". This phenomenon is evident not only in the widespread influence of Tao Yuan graduates in the art and ceramic industries at home and abroad, but also in the uniqueness and innovation of their educational model. Mr. Ning Lin, one of the key educational pioneers in the Fine Arts Department of Tao Yuan, has provided strong support for the formation of the "Tao Yuan phenomenon" through his artistic achievements and educational contributions. This article was aimed to delve into the causes and impacts of the "Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute phenomenon" by examining Mr. Ning Lin's artistic life and educational practices.

[Progress] Mr. Ning Lin's early life, his artistic enlightenment, his academic journey and artistic growth, and his military career and artistic practice were first reviewed. Then, his return to education and the inheritance of art, particularly his teaching at the Ceramic Academy, was highlighted, where he contributed significantly to establishing a foundational art education system. How Mr. Ning Lin integrated the theory and practice of sketching and color in his teaching was explored, while he was the first to incorporate watercolor techniques into the color curriculum, emphasized the importance of outdoor sketching and gradually developed a comprehensive and distinctive foundational course system for the Ceramic Academy. As an outstanding educational pioneer in the Art Department of the Ceramic Academy, Mr. Ning Lin's artistic achievements and educational contributions have had a profound impact on the formation of the "Ceramic Academy phenomenon". By analyzing Mr. Ning Lin's artistic life and educational practices, this article was attempted to reveal the educational philosophy and mechanisms of artistic inheritance behind the "Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute phenomenon".

[Conclusions and prospects] Mr. Ning Lin is known for his calm and composed demeanor, low-key and humble nature and his exemplary conduct as a teacher. He is pragmatic and truth-seeking, diligent and meticulous in his teaching, while he has dedicated decades to the establishment of the basic art education system at Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute. Additionally, he has carried forward the school spirit and ethos of Wuchang Art College, treating all students equally and with the warmth of parent, making people feel at ease and deeply respected by both teachers and students. As a key educator in the Department of Fine Arts at Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, Mr. Ning Lin's artistic achievements and educational contributions have significantly contributed to the formation of the "Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute phenomenon". By analyzing Mr. Ning Lin's artistic life and educational practices, we can gain a deeper understanding of the educational philosophy and art inheritance mechanism behind the "Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute phenomenon". His artistic achievements and teaching experience offered valuable insights for future ceramic artists and educators.
