Extended abstract:[Background and purposes] As an important part of Chinese civilization, the culture of Yellow River painted pottery carries profound historical heritage and spiritual wealth. The painted pottery from the Yellow River basin, with its unique shapes, exquisite patterns and deep cultural connotations, reflects the ancient people's understanding of nature, life and the universe, becoming an important symbol of ancient Chinese art and civilization. With the continuous enhancement of cultural identity and spiritual pursuits in modern society, Yellow River painted pottery, as a representative symbol of traditional culture, has gradually integrated into the cultural and creative industry, becoming an important carrier for cultural dissemination and innovation. However, how to closely integrate Yellow River painted pottery culture with modern life through innovative design, while respecting tradition, to meet contemporary consumers' diverse needs in terms of aesthetics and functionality, remains a significant challenge in the cultural and creative product design.[Methods] Based on the theory of life aesthetics, the application of Yellow River painted pottery culture in the design of tea-related cultural and creative products is explored, by analyzing the aesthetic value of painted pottery patterns and their organic integration with modern tea set designs. The theory of life aesthetics emphasizes seeking the presence of beauty in everyday life, valuing both the artistry of objects and their functionality and user experience. With the improvement of modern life quality, people pay more attention to the aesthetic and spiritual needs of objects. Cultural and creative product design not only needs to have a deep foundation of traditional culture but also needs to be innovative to fit modern lifestyles.[Results] Firstly, by analyzing the artistic characteristics of Yellow River painted pottery, the aesthetic value in its patterns is excavated. Patterns, such as petal patterns, spiral patterns and geometric designs, not only have profound cultural symbolism, but also exhibit rich aesthetic layers. These patterns, through the combination of colors and shapes, showcase the ancient people's unique understanding of nature and the universe. By extracting these traditional elements and transforming them into decorative elements in modern tea set designs, a perfect fusion of traditional culture and modern design can be achieved. It is also found that the patterns of Yellow River painted pottery not only have strong visual appeal but can also resonate with consumers on an emotional level, thus endowing products with profound cultural connotations and emotional value. Secondly, the innovative paths in the design of cultural and creative products of Yellow River painted pottery is explored. While inheriting traditional patterns, designers need to innovate according to modern aesthetic and functional needs, to ensure that the products meet aesthetic requirements and are practical. For example, designers can combine the theory of life aesthetics to optimize the material, shape, proportion and other aspects of tea sets, enhancing their comfort and visual effect and hence increasing the market appeal of the products and stimulating consumers' emotional identity. Additionally, the application of modern craft technology brings more possibilities for the cultural and creative products of Yellow River painted pottery. Through innovative craft techniques, products can present richer colors and textures, better integrating into modern life.[Conclusions] Through theoretical analysis and practical exploration, new ideas and methods for the dissemination and innovation of Yellow River painted pottery culture are provided. Guided by the theory of life aesthetics, cultural and creative products of Yellow River painted pottery can not only achieve the recreation and redevelopment of traditional culture but also meet modern consumers' needs for aesthetics, practicality, and spiritual enjoyment, thereby contributing to the inheritance and innovation of Chinese traditional culture.
