Abstract: Additive manufacturing technology creates physical objects by stacking materials layer by layer, enabling rapid prototyping of ceramic parts with complex structures. Among them, extrusion additive manufacturing technology is an important part of this field. Extrusion-based molding, due to the action of extrusion force during the printing process, produces ceramic green bodies with the relatively high solid content among all additive manufacturing methods, thus eliminating the need for subsequent densification processes. It can meet the requirements of complex shape and high density of high-performance ceramics at the same time, so it has a wide range of application prospects in aerospace, biomedical and electrical and electronic industries. This review introduces the application of extrusion molding in the preparation of ceramic materials, and expounds the basic principle of the technology and the key factors affecting the extrusion process. Additionally, by integrating the latest research findings, the performance of extrusion-formed ceramic materials and their applications in practical fields are explored. The article concludes with an analysis of the current challenges faced by extrusion forming technology and provides a perspective on its future development trends.
Key words: extrusion molding; ceramic materials; additive manufacturing; integrated structural and functional performance
