Professor JIANG Weihui’s team published a paper on porous ceramics in Journal of Ceramics, “Preparation of Foam Ceramic from Sand Shale in Guihua Town, Sichuan Province”. The preparation of porous ceramics such as foam ceramic is an effective way to convert low-value raw materials into high value-added products. The ceramic permeable brick is to further transform ceramic waste into high-value urban environmental protection products. The ceramic permeable brick developed by the team won the first prize of Jiangxi Science and Technology Progress in 2020.
The team leader JIANG Weihui, Professor, Ph.D., Ph.D. supervisor, Editorial Board Member of Journal of Ceramics, graduated from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, enjoys Special government allowances of the State Council, selected into National Millions of Talents Program, New Century Talents of Ministry of Education, Ganpo Excellence 555 Engineering Talents in Jiangxi Province, Academic and Technical Leader of Major Discipline in Jiangxi Province. The project of ceramic permeable brick took 15 years to tackle key problems, which broke the blockade of foreign technology, broke through six key technologies, developed two key equipment such as special press and kiln, and formed a complete set of ceramic permeable brick production technology with independent intellectual property rights, with the achievement reaching the international advanced level. It has been successfully industrialized in Jiangxi and many domestic enterprises, which has greatly promoted the scientific and technological progress of China’s ceramic permeable brick industry, led the development of the industry, and produced significant economic, social and ecological environmental benefits.
