Abstract: Continuous alumina fiber is a high performance ceramic fiber material, with excellent mechanical properties, chemical stability, high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance. It also has good surface activity, which makes it easy to be compounded with resin, metal and ceramic matrix. Due to these superior properties and high cost performance, continuous alumina fiber has important applications in the fields of structural reinforcing materials and adiabatic refractory materials. In this paper, the main techniques for the preparation of continuous alumina fiber are summarized from two routes: physical forming and precursor transformation. The advantages and disadvantages of basic process methods, and the scope of application of various preparation methods are described. At the same time, the research progress in continuous alumina fiber is reviewed, and it's pointed out that the domestic engineering technology maturity and product performance stability need to be further improved. Finally, some suggestions for the future development of domestic alumina fiber are put forward.
