Abstract: Ceramic bonded CBN grinding wheel samples with different pore-making agents were prepared in order to identify the influence of pore-making agents on their microstructure and properties. Bending strength, impact strength and porosity of the samples were analyzed, while the grinding experiments were carried out. It is found that porosity of the CBN test strip with glass hollow ball is the highest, while the bending strength and impact strength decrease less, taking into account the two requirements of grinding wheel strength and sharpness under the same conditions. Meanwhile, if the glass hollow ball with volume fraction is about 20%, the grinding power of the grinding wheel is minimum, and low roughness and excellent surface quality of the workpiece can be obtained.
