Abstract: By means of the analysis of the movement of grinding ball in vibrating mill, this article sets up the collision model between grinding balls, grinding ball and cylinder. By numericalsimulation of the grinding balls movement , the basic law of the grinding ball's movement are obtained. The statistics of large number of numerical simulations suggests that if the speed of revolution of grinding balls is identical, the number of times of collision of grinding ball around the periphery is less than that at the centre and the single collision impact of grinding ball around the periphery is larger than that at the centre. Generally speaking the grinding effect around the periphery is larger than that at the certre. Thus, to reduce the cylinder diameter properly is beneficial to improve the grinding efTect of the whole machine.
