Abstract: The composition characteristics of pigment used in the Jingdezhen Yuan blue-and-white porcelains are containing arsenic and sulphur, high Fe203 / CoO ratios (2~4.5), low MnO/CoO ratios and without nickel and copper. The chemical composition characteristics ore nearly the same as that of the danaite containing rich cobalt and without nickel and copper. So, the cobalt are used in the Jingdczhen Yuan blue-and-white porcelain probably came from Central Asia, Europe or Gansu and Xinjiang areas in China. The geological structure of Gansu and Xinjiang areas is the same as that of Central Asia.
