Abstract: The potential of reference salution is initially higher than potential of test salution, this abnormal phenomena are probably occured when amount of sodium is very few in the ceramic samples analyzed by the potentiometric - Comparison - Method. It is therefore recommended that the report of analytic result may be given with the Detectable Range(D. R.) of Na2O.Based on the selectivity theory of ISE, the calculating fomula of D.R. has been derived. The selectivity coeffencints of sodium electrode by which the D.R. is calculated have been determined by experiment.

Keywords: potentiometric - comparison method, detectable range, selectivity coefficient
