Abstract:Ti3AlC2 ceramics were synthesized by in -situ hot pressing 2TiC/Ti/Al powders. The phase composition and microstructure of the samples are investigated by means of X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy in different processes. The results indicate that high purity Ti3AlC2ceramic can be obtained by designing the pressure period and controlling the heating-up rate appropriately. The replacement of carbon and partial Ti powders by TiC powders can help the in-situ synthesis of Ti3AlC2.
