Abstract:Bi12TiO20 precursor was prepared by the co-precipitation method using bismuth nitrate and titanium butoxide as the starting materials, and Bi12TiO20 nano-powder was obtained by heat-treatment of the precursor. The structure and feature were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The photocatalytic performance of the nano-powder was evaluated by using methyl orange as target degradation product. The result shows that the nanopowder heat-treated at 550℃ owns good photocatalytic performance, and the UV-Vis absorption spectra test reveals that the nano-powder owns the performance of red-shift, and its degradation rates of methyl orange may arrive at 93% and 54% under ultraviolet and visible light respectively when the illumination time is 4h.
