Abstract: In the paper, the development and characteristics of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) are discussed - According to the anal-sis of its application in ceramic industry, including the prediction of temperature field in kiln, the pattern recognition of PTCmaterials, the analysis of ceramic defect and the diagnosis of on site SiC content in refractory material , conclusion is drawn that this method (ANN) is very promising in being applied in ceramic industry
