Basic Principle and Applications of Direct Coagulation Casting on Ceramics

Abstract: Direct coagulation Casting(DCC) is a novel near net shape process concept for ceramic Materials. It is basic on the fundamental principle that a electrical double layer stabilized, concentrated ceramic suspension can be solidified by shifting the PH of suspension towards the isoelectric point or by increasing the salt concentration due to enzyme - cat­alyzed chemical reaction on substrate. A homogeneous green bodies without density gradients were achieved. After demolding and drying the green bodies can be sintered to very high density. In this paper. the DCC basic principles and its application of DCC were discussed respectively.
