Abstract:Postmodernism which attaches importance to innovation in art forms and techniques has extensive and profound influence on contemporary ceramics. As a theory of diversity, postmodernism respects history but is not subject to its restrictions. Therefore, contemporary ceramics exhibits diverse trends: returning to the original and traditional while pursuing the new and innovative. Postmodernists advocate the natural existence and plural occurrence; therefore, in contemporary ceramics are the awareness of shared culture and the feelings of humanitarians.
