Abstract: The essence to NDT infrared thermal imaging is to measure the surface temperature difference, and the bigger the temperature difference, the more sensitive the detecting. The paper studies the influence factors of NDT infrared thermal imaging for ceramic product,_ and finds that the thermal conductivity coefficients of product and flaws are the primary factors determining the accuracy and sensitivity of infrared testing, while the heating temperature or heat flux and ambient temperature are the external affecting elements. Besides, the depth of flaws in the product, the size and the type of flaws are also important influencing factors.

KeyWords: infrared thermal imaging, the optimal theoretical inspecting time, the optimal theoretical detecting sensitivty, thermal conductivity coefficients
